Tindall Georgia Division was one of only 47 plants throughout the U.S. receiving Energy Champion recognition for making significant progress in implementing the energy savings opportunities identified through a Save Energy Now energy assessment. In total, the award recipients achieved more than $47 million in cost savings and 6.4 trillion BTU in total energy savings.

“We are extremely gratified to have our Conley plant recognized by the Save Energy Now program,” said Phillip J. Iverson, P.E., Vice President and General Manager of Tindall Georgia Division. “It attests to the fact that energy efficiency is inherently built into our prestress concrete building system components and correctional cell modules and is an extension of our manufacturing philosophy.”

The Conley plant participated in a Save Energy Now energy assessment with DOE’s Industrial
Technologies Program (ITP) in mid-2007, conducted by the Industrial Access Center (IAC) of Georgia Tech’s Division of Economic Development Institute. Recommendations by the audit group were implemented, resulting in energy efficiency sufficient to qualify as an Energy Champion.

By implementing the recommended actions, Tindall is reducing our nation’s energy use and shrinking our carbon footprint in the near term.
